DockerCon 2016: Deep Dive into Docker for Developers

There were many awesome announcements at DockerCon 2016 but we are super excited to open the Docker for Mac and Windows beta to everyone! During DockerCon 2016, several presentations highlighted these efforts to bring a native Docker experience to Mac and Windows, making it easier for developers to work with Docker in their own environments. Watch the sessions below to learn more!

DockerCon 2016: Part 2 of Top 10 Videos

We received lots of positive feedback from DockerCon 2016 attendees on the content presented at the conference! “Best keynote I’ve seen in a long time” “The talk challenged some ideas I had – which is exactly what I would hope for” “Too many awesome talks at DockerCon – it was so hard to choose!”  DockerCon 2016 attendees voted for their favorite sessions from the conference through the mobile app, powered by Docker. Docker All The Things at OSCON!

Last week, the Docker team headed to Austin for OSCON for a week packed full of containers and open source! The official conference agenda featured many Docker talks including a keynote session (complete with live open sourcing of the core technology that powers the Docker for Mac and Windows desktop applications!) from Solomon Hykes, two packed workshops with Jérôme Petazzoni and a full day of sessions on containers with talks from Rackspace, IBM, Datadog, Avant, Couchbase and of course Docker. The local Docker Austin meetup group hosted an evening event on Tuesday with talks on Docker Security Scanning and Docker and unikernels. The Docker team also staffed a booth in the expo hall to answer questions from OSCON attendees. Below are the slides from most of the Docker talks – we’ll keep adding new ones as they get posted!

Docker Online Meetup #38: Docker Support in NetBeans, Eclipse and IntelliJ

At the latest Docker Online Meetup, Docker Captain Arun Gupta from Couchbase joined us to discuss Docker support in an Integrated Development Environment (IDE). A typical tool chain of Java developer consists of an IDE such as NetBeans, Eclipse, or IntelliJ. These IDEs assist in easily writing and debugging the Java application. They also provide features like syntax highlighting and code completion, which makes the developer more effective. All three IDEs provide support for building, pulling and pushing Docker images and running containers. This allows you to run your application or database server as Docker container from within the IDE itself. This live coding session shows the current state of Docker support in the three IDEs. Watch the recorded video and slides from Arun’s presentation for the Docker Online Meetup below.
