At DockerCon 2015 in San Francisco, we’re excited to debut new activities for the community of users and contributors to the Docker Project. From a dedicated space throughout the conference to our first ever Contributor Summit, there will be plenty to do for both seasoned Docker contributors and those looking to learn more about open source.
Take a look below for more details and see how you can get involved.
The Contributor Zone
The Contributor Zone is a space open to all DockerCon attendees on June 22 & 23 that is dedicated to the Docker open source community. Attendees will be able to participate in the community-driven sessions below, get to know other members of the Docker Project, and quietly hack on Docker.
Between sessions, Docker staff and project maintainers will be around to answer any questions you have about the project and how to get involved. Drop by and say hello!
Birds of a Feather Sessions
In the Contributor Zone, you can join us for 45 minute-long Birds of a Feather discussions 11:00 – 11:45 am each morning of the conference. In each slot, we’ll discuss up to six topics submitted by attendees around using and contributing to the Docker Project. Have something you’d like to talk about? Send us your ideas here.
Workshop: Get Started Contributing to Docker
Based on the success of our recent open-source-a-thon, we are holding a session at 12:45pm on June 22nd to get you up and running with contributing to Docker, from set-up to making your first pull request.
Meet the Maintainers
At 4:05 pm on June 23rd, join the Docker Project’s maintainers for informal discussion around how the Project operates.
The Contributor Summit, a day-long event on June 24th, opportunity for people actively working on and contributing to Docker to come together to meet, discuss and plan the future of Docker. We’ll gather at the Marriott to work towards solving the project’s challenges, both immediate and long-term. This will include discussing and working on anything related to the project’s success, from code and documentation to processes and testing.
Due to space limitations, additional Summit attendees will need to join our waitlist. If you’re attending Dockercon and actively contribute to or participate in the Docker Project community, sign up now.
