Introducing Docker’s new CEO

Docker has celebrated a number of important milestones lately. March 20th was the fourth anniversary of the launch of the Docker project at PyCon in 2013. April 10th was the fourth anniversary of the day that I joined Solomon and a team of 14 other believers to help build this remarkable company. And, on April 18th, we brought the community, customers, and partners together in Austin for the fourth US-based DockerCon. March 20th, 2013 Docker Team in 2013 DockerCon was a great opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve seen in the past four years. Docker the company has grown from 15 to over 330 talented individuals. The number of contributors to Docker has grown from 10 to over 3300. Recoding for the Future

It’s been three years since the Docker project launched, and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind. In just the past year, we’ve nearly tripled the number of employees and contributors, launched a broad set of both open source and commercial products, and have found ourselves at the center of an industry transformation. To keep pace with our accelerated growth, we’ve decided to re-code our organization to better align with our vision and growth plans for Docker. To that end, we are announcing a couple of promotions and one new addition to the Docker management team.

Volunteering at the San Francisco Food Bank

Last Thursday, 15 Docker employees spent a half day volunteering at the San Francisco – Marin Food Bank joining 25,000 other individuals who contribute 142,000 hours worth of service each year helping those in the need.
