#SwarmWeek is Coming – Are you ready?

The week of Monday, March 7th through Friday March 11th is packed with awesome activities, exciting news, cool hacks and content all related to Docker Swarm.

Docker Swarm is the open source project for Docker host clustering and container scheduling capabilities.

ICYMI here’s a recap of Swarm capabilities:

  • Cluster Docker Engines into a single virtual Docker Engine
  • High scalability and performance (scale up to a 1000 nodes and 50K containers)
  • Flexible container scheduling strategies
  • Multi-host networking and Docker Compose support
  • Full support for the Docker API
  • Embedded in Docker Dataccenter solution

Whether you are new to Docker or already Swarming your Engines, #SwarmWeek is a great way to immerse yourself in Docker Swarm features, use cases and experiments to try for yourself. Stay updated on all of the big news and activities happening during Swarm Week? Sign up now to receive all the info about #SwarmWeek activities and a wrap-up at the end of the week!

Below is a list of the scheduled events during #SwarmWeek you should attend!

Thursday, March 3rd

Webinar: Docker + Containers 101

We know that this is technically before Swarm Week but this is a great opportunity for you to learn more about what containers and why they are important. vExpert David Davis will discuss what containers are and explain the Docker ecosystem. Then Nigel Poulton, author of Pluralsight’s extremely popular Docker courses, will cover all of the fundamentals of Docker. Nigel will also do a deeper diver into what Docker Swarm is and what makes it so cool!

The webinar starts at 12 pm PST and three attendees will each win a $100 Amazon gift card.

We’ll ask the team some questions including how they were able to scale test Docker Swarm to 30,000 containers on 1,000 nodes at DockerCon EU 2015 and what’s in store for Swarm in the future!

You can also ask your questions directly to the team by either submitting a comment on this post or tweeting at one of them directly.
