Docker Hub Jan 5 outage

Monday January 5th at 10:04am PST, the Docker Hub network experienced a service interruption for approximately one hour. The outage was caused by a networking configuration change to our border router, which is responsible for directing all traffic for services related to Docker Hub. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this outage has caused.

During this outage we have identified areas for improvement and are implementing changes to the way we manage the operations of Docker Hub:

  1. Improve our escalation and monitoring procedures so that the response times are faster
  2. Implement a robust environment for testing networking changes before rolling them to production
  3. Implement a more informative site is down error page
Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience this outage has caused and thank you for your patience as we work to increase Docker Hub’s performance and reliability.
