Black Duck named Docker 'TOP 10 Open Source Rookie of the Year'

We’re thrilled to keep the good news coming. One week after closing a $15 million series B funding round, we’re excited to announce that Black Duck Software has recognized Docker as a top new open source project that commenced in 2013. Being named a Black Duck Rookie of the Year is an honor for us and a testament to the incredible response and participation we have received, and continue to receive, from our community – not to mention the amazing work done by our team.

After reviewing thousands of open source projects and analyzing project activity, commits per day, project team attributes and other factors, Black Duck selected the top ten projects following an audit of its findings and scores. We are proud to say that we made the list!

As we near our one year anniversary of the Docker project, we couldn’t be happier with the current makeup of our ecosystem. With over 400,000 downloads and over 300 contributors to the project,

Docker is emerging as a container standard and playing a crucial role in the transformation of DevOps. It has been an incredible ride thus far and we are privileged to be part of such a vibrant and forward-thinking community. Here’s to continuing an already noteworthy 2014!
